Serve as the lead of the organization's Help Desk, assigning and monitoring work

Requirements


  • Proven working experience in enterprise technical support
  • Good knowledge of Java
  • Solid grasp on relational database modeling and design (e.g. MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database)
  • Knowledge of Web Development technologies and platforms such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with web application servers (e.g. Tomcat)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows/Unix/Linux systems, utilities and scripting
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent client-facing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for assuring users are provided efficient and timely first and second level support on the working hours agreed in the support SOW
  • Monitors problems and follows up with assigned personnel to ensure timely resolution of problems.
  • Isolates problem trends and ensures that troubleshooting efforts are completed for recurring problems until permanent solutions are found.AcÂ?Âc Accurately communicates pertinent information.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of quality improvement programs for the HelpDesk.
  • Ensures that decisions made to improve the overall customer support of the Help Desk are continually carried through.
  • Responsible for taking, routing and troubleshooting for Help Desk calls as required.
  • Solves problems and makes decisions on a daily basis relative to Help Desk responsibilities.
  • Ensures that effective Help Desk representation takes place for the coordination of work processes and projects with other participants as required.
  • Answers Help Desk calls if needed. Maintains incidents in the assigned helpdesk system; tracks open ticket activity and provides reports to specific work units on open Help Desk items.
  • Performs staff scheduling to ensure Help Desk coverage during normal business hours and on- call support as required.
  • Invokes problem escalation procedures to coordinate recovery.
  • Resolves problem situations in a professional manner.
  • Interfaces with users of technology as well as business users and management.
  • Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly statistics, status reports, and graphical reporting aids are completed and continually modified to meet the needs of the department.
  • Responsible for Updating and maintaining Help Desk and user documentation.
  • Controls that the agreed hours of the team members are complete and makes sure to cover any gaps.
  • Develops applications for our clients and the support teams.
